Wilderness Writers and Philosophers: Class Trip to Ely, Minnesota

On Saturday April 14th, five members of the Wilderness Writers and Philosophers class went to Ely, MN to visit Sigurd F. Olson’s Listening Point cabin and to participate in the National Day of Climate Action. We attended a presentation by Paul Schurke titled, ”The North Pole Was Here” and talked with Wil Steger via satellite phone from his Global Warming 101 Expedition on Baffin Island.

Ely, MN was one of over 1000 communities calling on Congress to cut carbon emissions 80% by 2050.
