Option for Teacher Licensure in Alternative EducationCindy Dillenschneider, Primary Advisor
Students within the Outdoor
Education-Therapeutic
and Universal Design major have the option of structuring their program to
result in Wisconsin teacher licensure in alternative education grades
6-12. In order to exercise
this option, students will be required to complete the following courses
as part of, or in addition to, their Outdoor Education-Therapeutic and
Universal Design major:
EDU 222
The Reflective Teacher

Under this option, EDU 461 (Student Teaching) will
substitute for OED 492 (Internship) for the OE/Therapeutic and Universal
Design major. Note: 4
additional credits of student teaching are required and can be structured
within the Winter Block experience. Pre-approval
required from the director of teacher education.
