As an intern with our TAG (Teambuilding, Adventure, Growth) program:

 

You will have the opportunity to work with one of the most respected outfitters in the New and Gauley river business. We have delivered quality outdoor adventure and whitewater services for over 30 years. Not only will you have many opportunities to go rafting, you will have one of the best recreation areas in the country at your doorstep. We are located in the Allegheny Plateau of the Allegheny range, where the rivers and streams cut through the mountainous terrain. You will also have the opportunity to directly facilitate a multitude of clients from around the world through various outdoor recreation and adventure activities. This includes high ropes courses, low ropes courses, canopy tours and zip lines as well as paintball games, climbing walls and teambuilding and leadership programs.

 

Dates: Starting in May, minimum 12 week contract, possible employment after completion of internship in good standing.

 

Salary: $100/40 hr work week. Lodging included (cabin style lodging, on-base) and discounted meal plan available.

 

Experiential Education Internship (TAG Program)

 

TAG Interns are responsible for assisting in all aspects of running a professional challenge course. These responsibilities include:

           

  • Maintenance and upkeep of courses and equipment.

  • Further development and construction of courses.

  • Further development of programs and initiatives.

  • Assist in program planning and coordination.

  • Facilitate team building and adventure exercises for clients.

  • Basic mechanical maintenance of equipment.

  • Preparation of equipment for programs and initiatives.

  • Strong customer service skills.

  • Some training required for advanced courses.

 

Qualifications:

 

Qualified candidates must be self-motivated with the confidence and knowledge to further develop programs and initiatives for TAG and be able to facilitate existing programs*.

 

  • Knowledge of Experiential Education

  • Experience designing and implementing challenge course programs or equivalent level of facilitation.

  • Capability of (or having experience in) facilitating youth and adult clients as well as a wide variance of corporate clients.

  • First Aid and CPR certifications.*

  • Basic computer skills (Windows)

  • Have an understanding of the outdoor adventure industry and can professionally represent NARR and the TAG program within it.
