Instructions for P.R.O. (Paperless Registration Online)

1.       You must have a Northland College computer user ID and password in order to proceed.  Please contact Doreen Kroll in the I.T. department at   682-1855 to obtain one if you don’t already have one.

2.       Prepare your preliminary list of course selections. Remember, to be considered full-time status you must be registered for at least 12 credit hours. If you are uncertain of how to select your courses, your advisor will assist you. Choose alternate courses carefully.

3.       Check the College catalog and Timetable of Courses carefully to make sure you meet the requirements for the courses you select. Pay particular attention to the prerequisites for each course.

If a course is marked “Instructor Consent”, you must have written consent from the instructor to register. Complete the Add/Drop form, and obtain instructor signatures where needed.

4.       It is your responsibility to make an appointment to meet with your advisor before you register. Allow adequate time to meet with your advisor and plan your schedule of classes. After you have met with your advisor, discussed your course selections, and obtain your PIN and day to register, you are ready to register online.

5.   Follow these steps to register online:

ü       Login to The Bridge with your ID and password.

ü       Click on School Services

ü       Click on Campus Services

ü       Click on Student and Financial Aid

ü       Click on Registration

ü       Click on Select Term (choose the term you are registering for and click submit)

ü       Click on Check Your Registration Status to see if you are eligible to register at this time. All holds on your account must be cleared before you will be allowed to register (click on back to return to menu).

ü       Click on Register for Classes. At this point a pop-up box will prompt you to enter in an alternate pin number.  This is the six digit number that you received from your advisor.

ü       Enter the CRN (Course Reference Number) for the course you want to add to your schedule. Enter only one CRN per box. The CRN is the 4-digit course number located in the Timetable of Courses.

ü       After entering all the CRN’s for the term, click on Submit to register for the classes.

ü       Registration errors will appear if any occur.  If a course is closed, you will be given the option to be waitlisted in the course.  You must click on the drop-down box and choose waitlisted in order to be waitlisted and then hit submit.

ü       It is not necessary to bring in a paper copy of your registration form to the Registrar’s Office.  Complete an add/drop form if you need to obtain instructor consent for any courses.

NOTE: You can only register for courses that have a CRN in the Timetable of Courses. Registration for any other courses, such as internships, field experiences, etc., must be done according to the instructions on the Special Course Registration form and submitted in person to the Registrar’s Office.

8.   You can view your schedule by clicking on Student Detail Schedule. You will be able to drop any courses from your schedule on The Bridge up until the last day to add/drop, but you must complete an add/drop slip to add any courses.

Please note that you will obtain your registration date and your alternate pin number from your advisor.  This date is based on your class standing based on your total earned credits.  This does not include credits that you are currently enrolled in.
